I stayed home with my children, so you can imagine how it was on a one budget home. Through the years, my husband made more money and got better jobs, but you always know, as you said, to do these little things because we had to use these skills early on. The one thing I haven't done is canning. I think it's wonderful that you have done this through the years. Also, using the clothesline is a very good idea, but I like to have my towels dried in the dryer. And hand-me-downs, I've had a few of those too. This was a lovely story.
