Who I am

I am Marilyn. I live in Steelville MO on the century-old family farm, with my wonderful family. I have been married to John for more than 27 years. Together, we have raised 3 wonderful, caring children.

I've slowed down a lot in the past few years and have placed my focus on what is really important to me. As I get older, I find that the simpler things in life are appealing to me. While most other people want the bigger and the better, I crave a simpler, less cluttered and self-sufficient lifestyle. I keep things until they break and I recycle nearly everything.

My free time consists of gardening, canning, baking, singing in the church choir, making goat milk soap and caring for my Jersey cow and chickens.

My sisters call me Martha. It doesn't bother me, but it makes me proud that they notice.
